how long does s2p implementation take?

Implementation timeline is dependent on a variety of factors including scope of software, business readiness, and integration to your financial system or ERP. On the fast end of the scale, 4 months typically, upwards of 18 months for large, complex, multi-region and multi-ERP environments.

how many software user licenses do I need?

User license breakdown is complicated, and usually comes down to which software your organization chooses. Depending on the software, licensing can be broken down into categories of use (driven by the activities they will perform in the tool), or, licensing can also be driven by spend.

how much are s2p software subscription fees?

Software licensing or subscription fees vary widely depending on several factors, including the size and complexity of your organization, the specific modules being purchased, number of users or volume of spend, timing, and competition. For example, a mid-market customer can pay well less than $100k annually for a single module, or the largest customers can see annual licenses for a full suite in the multi-million dollar range. If you need help preparing your business case with more specific estimates based on your organization and needs, or help optimizing your costs, Optis can help.

what does s2p implementation cost?

A general guideline is 1.5x to 3x the software cost. The high end of this range is also accounting for the depth of change management that is led by the implementation partner.

how do we do supplier enablement? Supplier Adoption?

This is the number one contributor to realizing the benefits outlined in your business case and is also the number one long term failure point of source-to-pay programs. The approach to ensuring success is having a comprehensive enablement program that includes collaboration in the project across catalogs, purchase orders, invoices, and engagement methods (email, supplier portal, and cXML). Most importantly, after go-live, full supplier adoption either requires transition to dedicated client resources, or ongoing "white glove" support from your implementation parter.

Will my suppliers use a supplier portal?

Yes, and it is likely that many of them already are. The success of supplier adoption is more closely tied to the enablement plan designed by your implementation parter. At Optis, we have regularly achieved >90% supplier adoption across direct and indirect spend.

ERP vs S2P solution?

Source-to-Pay solutions are built to integrate with multiple ERPs and are recognized by major analysts such as Forrester, Gartner, and Spend Matters because of their depth of functionality and best practice design. Optis has experience integrating Source-to-Pay solutions with virtually all ERPs on the market, from those that are less well known, to the most common, such as SAP (S4 and ECC), Oracle EBS, NetSuite, Peoplesoft, JD Edwards, and Microsoft Dynamics. It is important to understand the specific solution being considered in comparison to a Source-to-Pay solution. Optis can help your organization better understand the considerations within your specific technological landscape.

Intake (or Orchestration) Solution vs s2p solution?

A lot of companies are exploring intake solutions to consolidate the user experience when they use a multitude of solutions for different parts of the Source-to-Pay process. Our view is that they work best when used together, particularly with more complex technological landscapes. Intake (or orchestration) solutions, such as Zip, Tonkean, and ORO Labs can be leveraged to create a single-entry point to guide users to participate in the procurement process alongside a S2P solution.
